Nate White - a Quintessentially British View of Trump

"A few things spring to mind. Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem. For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace - all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed. So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trump’s limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief. Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing - not once, ever. I don’t say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility - for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman. But with Trump, it’s a fact. He doesn’t even seem to understand what a joke is - his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act o...

Donald Trump on North Korea (Last Chance)

Image
US President Trump told a press briefing on Tuesday (8 August 2017)  that North Korea would be met with “fire and fury like the world has never seen” if they made any more threats to the United States. Speaking at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, Mr Trump said: “North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States.” He added: “He has been very threatening. As I said, they will be met with fire, fury and frankly power the likes of which this world has never seen before.”

Donald Trump on Terrorists & Gun Control

Donald Trump famously tweets after the London Terrorist attack taking aim at gun-control lobbyists to show one example of how such an incident should end their debate on how the number guns in the US is not a problem "...because they used knives and a truck!" Meanwhile the public can access The Mass Shooting Tracker to keep track of instances of injuries and deaths in the US that are related to guns.  Injury and death is so commonplace that it no longer gets debated. Professor Helmut Norpoth Predicts Trump Win in US Election

Professor Norpoth developed a model that, applied retroactively in earlier races, would have correctly predicted the winner of every presidential election since 1912 — with the exception of 2000, when predicted winner Al Gore barely lost to George W. Bush. The model looks at which of the candidates performed better in the primaries and caucuses and concludes that the str...
